As we approach a tight race this November, I want to get past the headlines to talk about something that’s being overlooked. Something that could really change things. In fact, it’s something that’s impacted nearly every presidential election in recent history. And that’s - third parties. I’m A’shanti Gholar, host of the Brown Girls Guide to Politics. This season…

This is why I say that there's an unseriousness A'shanti with third party candidates. If you were serious, then you would not wait until the last minute to try to get all these petitions signed in order to be on the ballot in competitive states.

We have to make sure that we are actually building real genuine relationships with voters, not transactional ones. That is why black voters say folks are pandering to them.

Sometimes we view politics as this quote unquote game as if there's no impact or consequences to these decisions.
